Waimea Valley Wedding Joy

Occasionally we get weddings where we have very little interaction with our clients until their wedding day. And occasionally there are details you never think to ask. Details while inconsequential to the day can surprise and make you feel silly. Ashley and Diamond's wedding was one of these.

Walking into the North Shore estate where they were getting ready, I asked the woman who greeted me at the door if I had the right location for Diamond & Ashley's wedding. She very calmly shook her head and said "I'm sorry, you've got the wrong place". After a brief pause, her lips suddenly curled slightly at the edges as she burst into laughter "Nah, nah, nah, I'm just messing with you, I'm Diamond", she grabbed a hold of my hand and shoot vigorously. In the same moment I realized I was photographing my first lesbian wedding, I was also glad and excited it was going to be with them.
